国際書誌学関係文献賞について

ILAB(International League of Antiquarian Booksellers)は、40年ほど前から、“本に関する本、書誌解題等”の文献、目録に対し、国際的な賞を設けて、3年に一度、権威ある専門家3名の審査員による選考を行い、表彰してまいりました。
昨年締め切られた下記第14回の応募作品から、金賞1点、銀賞2点が選ばれ、去る6月、ロンドンにおいて表彰し、賞金(合計$20,000)が授与されました。
これらの文献は、出版関係者、図書館関係者、蒐集家、書店にとって、欠くべからざる刊行物であり、“文化を支える原動力になっている”と評価されています。
第15回は2008年末に締め切られますが、このたび私自身が運営委員会の委員長に選出される栄に浴しました。多くの応募を期待し、又、それらの文献が世界中の多くの人々に利用できるようPRに努めていきたいと思っています。
(尚、雄松堂はこの賞の日本版というべきゲスナー賞のスポンサーとして、過去4回で400点近い応募をいただいています。)
