This collection contains the pre-Meiji novels such as Share-hon, Kokkei-hon, Gokan-hon, and the performing arts literature including Kayo (Old Japanese ballads and songs) and Kabuki selected from a major collection of Japanese modern literature and Ukiyoe accumulated by Kyuya Ozaki (1890-1972) who was the leading figure in the study of Edo light literature.
